# embed — repo context

## Purpose
**Embeddable search widget** that publishers install on their websites. Provides
AI-powered search via **Web Components** (Custom Elements with **Shadow DOM**), so
it integrates into any site without CSS conflicts. Production: **embed.direqt-search.com**.

## Structure (top-level dirs)
- `src/` — the widget (Vue custom-element components, e.g. `SearchbotEmbed.ce.vue`, `Websearch.ce.vue`)
- `api/` — a small companion API server (needs `WEBSEARCH_SECRET`)
- `public/`, `localdev/` (test pages), `test/`
- Frontend dev server on **5173**, API on **5050** (Vite proxies `/api`).
